Description
What Is Evorel Sequi?
Evorel Sequi is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) treatment that combines Evorel and Evorel Conti patches in a single pack. It’s designed for perimenopausal women — those who are still having periods but experiencing symptoms of menopause.
This sequential HRT approach mimics the natural menstrual cycle and provides both oestrogen and progestogen throughout the month.
What Is It Used For?
Evorel Sequi relieves common symptoms caused by fluctuating hormone levels during the perimenopause.
It may help to:
- – Reduce hot flushes and night sweats
- – Ease vaginal dryness and discomfort
- – Improve sleep and mood
- – Maintain bone strength and reduce the risk of osteoporosis
Evorel Sequi is suitable if you still have your womb and your periods have become irregular but haven’t stopped completely.
How Does Evorel Sequi Work?
Evorel Sequi patches deliver HRT in two phases:
- – The Evorel patches (used for the first two weeks) contain oestrogen (estradiol), which helps to replenish falling hormone levels.
- – The Evorel Conti patches (used in the second two weeks) contain oestrogen and progestogen (norethisterone) to protect the womb lining from the effects of oestrogen.
This cycle mimics your natural hormone pattern and often results in a regular withdrawal bleed similar to a period.
How Should You Use Evorel Sequi?
To use Evorel Sequi correctly, follow the 4-week cycle and apply patches regularly.
Here’s how to apply them:
- – Use one Evorel patch twice a week for the first 2 weeks
- – Switch to Evorel Conti patches twice a week for the next 2 weeks
- – Apply each patch to clean, dry, hairless skin on the lower abdomen or buttocks
- – Replace patches every 3 to 4 days, using a different spot each time
- – Avoid placing patches near the breasts or on the same site consecutively
- – Press each patch down for 10 seconds to ensure it sticks
- – Showering is fine, but avoid long soaks or high heat that could loosen the patch
Are There Any Side Effects?
Like all HRT, Evorel Sequi may cause side effects, but not everyone will experience them.
Possible side effects include:
- – Skin irritation where the patch is applied
- – Headache, nausea, or breast tenderness
- – Bloating, mood swings, or light vaginal bleeding
- – Rare but serious risks: blood clots, stroke, or breast cancer
Contact your doctor if you notice unusual bleeding, chest pain, or swelling in your legs.
What Should You Know Before Using Evorel Sequi?
Make sure Evorel Sequi is safe and appropriate for your health before starting.
Speak to your doctor if you:
- – Have a history of breast cancer, blood clots, liver disease, or unexplained bleeding
- – Take any other medications or have health conditions that may affect treatment
- – Need ongoing HRT — you’ll require regular reviews and monitoring
How Should You Store It Be Stored?

- – Store below 25°C in a dry, cool place
- – Keep the patches in their original packaging to protect from moisture and light
- – Keep out of sight and reach of children
