Need urgent medication? Here’s what you need to know.

At Pharmaceutra, we understand how important it is to have access to your medication when you need it. While we are a private, online pharmacy, there are strict rules around supplying medicines in emergency situations, especially when a valid prescription is not available.

Can Pharmaceutra provide emergency supplies without a prescription?

As an online-only pharmacy, we are not able to supply prescription-only
medicines without a valid prescription. This includes emergencies where your regular medication has run out or been lost.

Emergency supplies without a prescription can usually only be made
in person by a pharmacist at a physical pharmacy, where they can assess you face-to-face.

What if I already have a private prescription?

If you have a valid private prescription, you can upload it through our website as usual. Once reviewed and approved by our pharmacy team, we will dispatch your medication via tracked delivery.

What can you do if you need medication urgently?

If you are in urgent need of a repeat medication or treatment, we recommend the following:

  • Contact your GP surgery to request an emergency prescription
  • Visit a local pharmacy in person – they may be able to provide an emergency supply at the pharmacist’s discretion
  • Use NHS 111 for urgent help and advice, especially outside of GP opening hours
  • If you are a private patient, contact your private prescriber or clinic directly for urgent support

Can I use Pharmaceutra for future urgent needs?

While we cannot provide emergency supplies without a prescription, our online doctor service allows you to plan ahead. By using our secure consultation process, you can request appropriate treatment in advance, helping to avoid disruptions to your care.
